What is the KAA0101IS Battery?

The KAA0101IS is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) 3450 mAh, intrinsically safe, li-Ion battery made by BK Technologies for KNG handheld radios. Intrinsically safe (IS) rating is a protection technique for safe operation of electronic equipment in explosive environments.  The battery is not the only component that makes a Bendix King KNG P radio IS certified, the radio must be ordered with the IS feature. If you do not have the IS certified version of the KNG P portable radio, you do not need this battery and should instead purchase a non IS rated battery.

Why choose the KAA0101IS Battery?

Do you work in an oil refinery or a mine where you could be exposed to highly explosive environments?  The IS batteries and radios are designed for those environments.  When purchasing an IS rated KNG radio, the IS version of the battery is required to maintain the IS compliance rating.  The battery is not the only component that makes a Bendix King KNG P radio IS certified, the radio must be ordered with the IS feature.
