This is a porcelain lidded jewelry box or trinket box with 3 feet, brass fittings and the design of an 18th century courting couple with hand painted gold accents and border.

The design is signed J Maire but I don't know if that is the box creator or the picture. The box was probably made in Germany or Austria.

The courting couple is a decal but the gold trim and flourishes are hand painted on. The box measures 2.75 inches high by 3.25 inches in diameter, was made in the 1930s and is in very good used vintage condition.

A very pretty trinket, ring or jewelry box.

The box is beautiful and would add elegance to any dresser or vanity or could be used on a desk for clips and stamps, etc.
